Psalms 96:9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
Are you beautiful? We all have ideas about what is beautiful to the beholder. We also know that each person has their own tastes and preferences. However once and a while a person comes into your life that has what we call inner beauty. The beauty I am asking about is that inner beauty. Now people define beauty as something or someone pleasing to the eye. In television they say, the camera likes you. However God is not concerned about the outer person as much as he is the inner person. The Hebrew for beauty is hadarah meaning adornment, glory as in worship or the glory as in royalty. It is that beauty and glory that identifies the person. The Hebrew for holy is qodesh. It is defined as something set apart sacred and dedicated to God. Peter described this as the adornment of subjection. Paul described it as the surrender the whole man to God as a slave for life. So the question for us is, do we have inner beauty? It should define who we are and publicly adorn or words and actions. We are to be people of honesty, integrity, and as best we can, holy set apart for Gods use and to bless others.
